TradeBeagle now has three scanners: Opening Reversal and Short Reversion for stocks, plus Overnight Crypto beta events. The stock examples below illustrate chart-review principles; crypto events are descriptive and ordered by bar time, not ranked by strength. Review crypto liquidity, exchange pricing, and risk separately. See the day/night scanner schedule.
A scanner shortlist isn't a to-do list where every item needs equal attention. Some sessions it has one name on it. Some sessions it has eight. The second kind of session is where triage matters, and where a bit of structure keeps you from either freezing up or chasing everything at once.
Understand what the list order means
Opening Reversal orders its stock shortlist by opening range versus ATR. Use that order as context for chart review, not a prediction of trade quality. Short Reversion shows moving-average conditions for its stock candidates. Overnight Crypto lists descriptive events by bar time; the newest event is not a strength ranking or a recommendation.
What separates a quick look from a deep look
Not every name on a long list deserves the same amount of time. A few practical filters help separate what's worth a full chart review from what isn't: is the name liquid enough to actually trade cleanly, is it a stock you have some baseline familiarity with, and is there something visible in the first few seconds on the chart, or does it take real digging to see any setup at all. None of these are pass/fail rules — they're just a way to spend your limited attention on the names most likely to reward it.
List order provides context, not a trade recommendation. Triage narrows a busy session down to what you can actually confirm well before the window closes.
A simple rule of thumb
Cap how many names get a full look in any given session at whatever you can genuinely chart-confirm before the window closes — for most people that's a small number, not the whole list. Whatever doesn't make the cut isn't wasted; it's a reasonable watchlist entry for another day, not a trade you were obligated to force into a busy session.
Key takeaway: scanning eight names shallowly is usually worse than confirming two well. Triage isn't skipping opportunities, it's protecting the quality of the ones you do look at.
